My mum always has some and she got me on board with this powerful fruit: Pomegranate seeds are the bomb! The red, sweet and zesty seeds are powerful little health, fitness and beauty helpers! When you cut a pomegranate in half and start extracting the seeds, be sure not to rush it and to wear and old t-shirt: chances are it’s going to be a messy affair but well worth the effort. On the practical side, you can save the seeds for a few days in the fridge and eat a few spoon full every day with your breakfast or as a healthy snack. They contain loads of:
- Fiber
- Protein
- Vitamin C
- Vitamin K (very good if your skin is struggling with redness)
- Folate (improves fertility)
- Potassium
They are also highly anti-inflammatory, which has loads of health benefits.

It is normal to have yeast in your body, however, if you eat too much sugar or processed food, it might get out of control and cause infections. When exercising, pomegranate is rich in dietary nitrates, which have shown to improve exercise performance. Even a small amount of the seeds will significantly enhance blood flow and increase exercise efficiency.

Pomegranate juice contains higher levels of antioxidants than most other fruit juices. It also has three times more antioxidants than green tea. The antioxidants in pomegranate juice can help remove free radicals, protect cells from damage, and reduce inflammation. Which equals happier, healthier, firmer skin.
Buying expensive face creams with luxurious pomegranate seed oil / extract is a nice thing to do, because you’re treating yourself (and you should!) HOWEVER, and I must stress this, it is MUCH MORE effective if you just eat it! Beauty starts with exercise and the food you eat. If you read about healthy fruit extracts inside of creams that are supposed to be good for your skin, it is best to just eat the fruit 🙂 Not only is it cheaper, but also healthier, efficient and it does so much more for your whole body.
